We believe missions to be a multi-faceted and important part of the local church.   We participate in both local and international missions and provide opportunities for all ages to get involved!  If you have questions about ANY of our missions opportunities at home or abroad, send us an email to staff@ccfaog.org

Local Missions

Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.

1 John 4:11-12 (NLT)

We aim to reach into every part of our community with our local missions.   We work closely with the local police department to provide school supplies, Thanksgiving meals for local families, as well as helping meet needs that arise outside of those events.

Several years ago, we noticed that the local police department would debrief  in our parking lot after the Veteran's Day Parade and again after the Holiday Parade.  A few of our members started opening the doors, making coffee and providing bottled water as a thank you.  Now, we partner with the Eastern North Carolina Regional Skills Center's culinary class and provide a meal for those who serve our community so bravely.

In addition, we also keep a well stocked food pantry.  Available anytime for our church members and the local community!! We are always taking donations!

InternationalMissions

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19 (NLT)

International missions is such an important part of the local church, fulfilling the Great Commission that Jesus Himself gave to us in Matthew 28.    Our goal is provide opportunities to spread the Gospel to all the ends of the earth, even if some of us have to do it from here at home.

Each year, we spend all year collecting items for Operation Christmas Child.  Each month has a themed item, and it helps ease the rush of end of the year expenses that most families have.  In November, we dedicate an entire Wednesday night service to packing the shoe boxes, writing letters and cards and praying over the boxes and their recipients. We packed 135 boxes in 2018, and 156 in 2019!

In October 2018 and 2019, we sent a missions team to Honduras.   They were able to work local Pastors and missions teams there to spread the Gospel!  They helped build roofs,  feed families and minister in nearly every capacity.
